TAYLOR’S UNIVERSITY

영국으로부터 독립하여 교육의 불모지였던 말레이시아에 1969년에 설립하여 45,000여명의 인재를 길러낸 사학의 명문입니다. 역사가 깊을 뿐만 아니라 예비대학프로그램(Pre University)과 미국학점교환 프로그램(American Degree Program)을 만들어Princeton, Cornell, Purdue와 같은 일류대학에 학생들이 편입하도록 하여 대단히 인기가 있는 대학입니다. 뿐만 아니라 대학예비과정을 마친 학생들이 영국 호주 캐나다대학에 우수한 성적으로 진학하여 장학금도 많이 받고 있습니다. 이 재단에서는 Garden International School, Australia International School, Nexus World School, Sri Garden School도 같이 운영하고 있습니다.

약 17,000명의 학생이 재학하고 있으며, 80여 개국에서 온 국제학생도 약 5,000명 정도 있습니다.
캠퍼스
본교는 KL시내에서 35분 거리의 Subang Jaya 에 있습니다. 2010년에 Lakeside 캠퍼스를 신축하고 흩어져 있던 여러 학부를 다 이전해서 근대적인 캠퍼스를 갖고 있습니다. 예비대학과정만 Subang Jaya 와 Sri Hatamas캠퍼스에서 하고 있습니다.

입학신청 서류들은 다음과 같습니다.

고등학교 내신성적, O레벨 결과, 검정고시 성적으로 입학신청할 수 있으며, 심사후 합격여부를 통보해줍니다. 영어공인성적이 없어도 지원가능하며 자체 영어테스트(EPT)를 거쳐서 영어능력이 부족하면 자체 어학연수원에 입학하는 조건으로 입학할 수 있습니다.

등록금 및 학비
학비는 1. 입학초기에 지급하는 입학금/등록비/비자비용/학생회비 RM7,000(240만원)

학기마다 지급하는 수업료가 있는데 1) 예비대학은 A레벨 : 1.5년간 총액 RM45,000(1,500만원) 화운데이션 : 1년간 총액 RM27,000(918만원)

2) 학사학위과정은 대체로 3년간 총액 약RM 55,000 (1,900만원)

3) 미국대학과정(ADP:American Degree Program)의 경우 2년간 Taylors에서 수학하는 학비는 2년간 Taylors에서RM56,000(약 1,900만원) 정도 합니다. 미국대학에서는 2년간 U$60,000-80,000정도 소요됩니다.

기숙사 및 숙박시설
기숙사비는 2인1실로 에어컨 유무와 방의 크기에 따라 월 30만원~40만원 합니다.
장학금 사례
국제학교 IGCSE O레벨 성적이 우수하면 장학금을 받습니다.
테일러 대학학위과정중 일부과정은 30%까지 장학금을 신청할 수 있습니다.

그리고 Taylors 에서 수학한 학생들이 연계된 대학에 가서 장학금 받는 사례가 종종 있습니다.

예비대학과정(Pre-University)
테일러에는 다양한 예비대학과정이 있습니다.

영국계인 GCE A Level : 1년반과정
캐나다계인 ICPU : 1년과정
호주계인 SAM : 1년과정
그리고 테일러 자체 Foundation과정 : 1년과정
한국학생의 경우는 고2를 마치고 성적이 5개 과목이 70점 이상이면 입학 가능합니다. 성적이 부족할 경우에는 6개월을 추가로 더 다닐 수 있습니다. 유학을 미국으로 가지 않을 경우에는 굳이 한국에서 고3과정을 마칠 필요가 없습니다. 고2과정을 마치고 예비대학 과정을 하고 본대학에 입학할 수 있습니다.

LANGUAGE Course
외부학생을 위한어학과정은 없고 학위과정 학생을 위해서 영어과정이 있습니다.
Intensive English Program으로 Mon to Fri 8:30AM부터 4시간 오전 오후반
Level 당 12주, 2Level이 있습니다. 레벨당 RM7,200+ 행정비RM6,454

개강은 1월, 4월, 8월, 11월에 있습니다.

안녕하세요. 원장님 잘 지내셨나요?
진작에 연락드렸어야 하는건데 제 잘못입니다.지금은 미국 Florida주에 Embry-Riddle univ에서 공부하고 있습니다.전공은 Aerospace Engineering이고요.학교는 확실히 만족스럽습니다.
작은 클래스라서 언제든지 교수들한테 뭐든지 물어볼수 있고, 교수들 열정도 대단합니다. 더군다나 학교자체가 Engineering School이 되서 그런지, 똑똑하고 공부 열심히 하는 학생들도 많습니다.
자랑이라고 할수도 있지만 적지나마 장학금도 받았습니다.전 이제 적응도 되서 잘 지내고 있습니다. 차가운 겨울이 가고, 이곳 플로리다는 말레이시아랑 비슷할 정도로 따뜻해 졌습니다. 이번 겨울은 추위가 너무 강해서, 말레이시아에서 온 학생들이 고생이 많았을 거라고 생각합니다. 말레이시아는 어떤가요? 혹시 눈이라도? 저는 이제 Junior로 전공과목을 하나둘씩 배워가고 있습니다.
Embry Riddle Aeronautical University는 역시 Aerospace로 유명한 학교답게, 과목이 쉽지가 않습니다. 그런 의미에서 저희 학교에 대해 간략이 소개해 드릴까합니다. 저희 학교는 그다지 인지도가 세계적으로 알려져 있진 않는데요, 미국 내에서는 꽤 유명한편입니다. 10년 넘게 항공쪽에서 1위를 유지하고 있지요. 유명하다고 해도 항공쪽 관련된 사람들만 아는 학교란게 문제지만요. 학교 전체가 공대와 항공대로 이루어져 있다보니, 과목의 다향한 선택과 다른학과와의 교류가 많이 부족한건 사실입니다 만은, 학교 교육 자체만 봤을때는 정말 좋다고 생각합니다. 일단은 학교 교수진들 중에서 NASA출신이 정말 많고요,
개중에는 회사의 CEO이면서 학생들을 가르치는 교수들도 있습니다. 더군다나 다른 큰학교와는 틀리게, 교수들이 정말 열정이 있습니다. 수업중이나 방과후에 질문사항이 있으면 정말 성의 있게 알려주고, 모르는게 있으면 어설프게 가르치기 보단 확실히 모른다고 말하는게 정말 맘에 듭니다. 당연히 알아내서 가르쳐 주지요. 시설적인 면에선 다른학교에 비해서 많이 딸리는데요, 공부하는데 필요한건 다있습니다. 더불어.. 이곳은 데이토나 비치라고, 해변이 유명한데요… 할게 하나도 없어서 정말 공부하는데 도움이 되는거 같습니다. 하하하 혹여나 이쪽학교에 관심있는 학생이 있다면, 정보가 도움이 됬으면 하네요. 다시금 말씀드리지만, 저희 학교는 Aerospace Engineering 과 Pilot쪽이 유명합니다.
